Entrepreneurship Development Cell (EDC)


The Entrepreneurship Development Cell (EDC) is an institutional body established in educational institutions to promote entrepreneurship, innovation, and self-employment among students. It encourages students to develop an entrepreneurial mindset, transform innovative ideas into viable business opportunities, and become job creators rather than job seekers.

The EDC serves as a platform where students receive guidance, training, mentoring, and exposure to the startup ecosystem through workshops, seminars, industrial interactions, and entrepreneurship-related activities.

Functions of EDC

  • Conduct Entrepreneurship Awareness Camps (EACs).
  • Organize seminars, workshops, guest lectures, and training programs.
  • Motivate students towards self-employment and startup creation.
  • Identify and nurture innovative student ideas.
  • Provide mentoring for business plan development.
  • Facilitate interaction with entrepreneurs, investors, and incubation centers.
  • Coordinate industrial visits and entrepreneurship-related competitions.
  • Create awareness about government schemes supporting startups and MSMEs.

Responsibilities of EDC

  • Plan and execute entrepreneurship development activities throughout the academic year.

  • Coordinate with industries, incubation centers, and government agencies.
  • Maintain documentation of meetings, circulars, reports, and feedback.
  • Promote innovation-driven projects and startup initiatives.
  • Monitor the progress and outcomes of entrepreneurship programs.
